@reckz420 All the other roads however are expensive, especially when you have to clear them in the winter and repair them in the spring. As are street lights, water lines, sewers, garbage disposal, recycling, telecommunications, electricity, transit, schools and more.
13
Then why are you here?
7
At your funeral.
5
@vincenthammons6705 No it didn't. Nowhere was locked down for that long. Requiring masking is not a lockdown. Lockdown means you can't leave your house other than for essentials.
5
They aren't in the ER, they're in the ICU and separate areas of the hospital designated for covid patients. My local ER was so overcrowded they were seeing patients in the waiting room due to a lack of available beds and rooms to see people in.
4
@TESSAPOOKIE1 "viruses do not jump from animals to humans without the help of researchers and funding" AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Seriously, how are you this stupid?
4
Well sure, all vaccines get this same treatment.
4
@freakychee Wait until he realises he can really push his immune system by stabbing himself with rusty nails.
3
@vincenthammons6705 Shutdown means you can't leave your home other than to get groceries, and all people leaving homes need to be masked at all times. That never happened, at least not in my state.
3
@vincenthammons6705 1. That's not a lockdown. That's a restriction that is nothing close to lockdown. Lockdowns are where people are not even allowed to leave their homes. Such a restriction never happened here. 2. Those people were free to continue keeping those people hired, but their business models relied on physical people. My job for example hired during the pandemic, as did many others. I remember speaking to a store near me who are doing better now than pre-pandemic due to the huge increase in online sales. So go learn what a lockdown is and how it differs from restrictions on non-essential businesses.
3
@angelgjr1999 Not really. The money went to the people, not just businesses. The collapse in '08 was worse.
2
@angelgjr1999 Housing isn't worse than '08, and you're missing the huge unemployment benefits. If you didn't get unemployment then that 2K was a bonus.
2
Yep, you nailed it.
2
Why, are they the only ones still alive in your scenario?
2
@fionabologna1768 Flatten the curve doesn't mean eradicating the virus, it means lowering the infection rates so hospitals do not get overwhelmed. That 2 weeks is also usually a full lockdown where people are restricted from leaving their homes, something that many US states never even did.
2
@vincenthammons6705 I work for a small business and we're doing just fine dude.
2
Right up until you get myocarditis because you exercised while sick with asymptomatic covid.
2
Drekken Hutchinson So the place that limits restaurants and other indoor public gatherings to just 8 people, the place that requires a negative covid test withing 48 hours to travel there and has a 60% fully vaccinated rate, with 69% at one dose. That Sweden?
2
Fully vaccinated all time in WV is 69 deaths. Compare that to the almost 2,000 since vaccinations began and I think you have your answer.
2
You mean like Israel who saw increased immunity from 3rd shots? Just because you didn't read the study doesn't mean other people didn't.
1
@Rell-eu8wv Oh sure, because the debt ceiling hasn't been moved ever.
1
@Rell-eu8wv Well sure. Trump increased the deficit every single year he was in office so the national debt is in shambles for starters. The housing market is due for a drop as well. Luckily those covid cheques kept people afloat.
1
@Tomato1342 Thank you for echoing the sentiment of most who want Newsome removed.
1
@belaireguy4117 Sure there are. Not that I believe for a second most of these commenters watched the video.
1
@marcduchamp5512 It's your job to deny reality. Congrats.
1
@bobdobb9017 Rubbish. Even small towns have ridiculous traffic issues from the dumb decision to make suburbs everywhere.
1
@reckz420 Combine that with losing 2/3 of your population, then let me know how they get on.
1
@unvaccinatedamerican9620 Sure they did champ.
1
@Darthwgamer My level? Says the people claiming the election was stolen even though every single shred of evidence says the opposite.
1
@greatcornholio5541 "healthy unvaccinated" Lol
1
@Sara-he4dn Yes, this was me personally. I went to the ER and waited 10 hours. Doctors were seeing people in the waiting area.
1
@slewone4905 Well sure. Believe it or not covid loses hospitals money due to all the elective surgeries being stopped. If you coworkers aren't useful for covid related problems then the hospital can't afford to have them there.
1
@Sara-he4dn Kidney issues. Not serious enough that I would collapse but I needed a scan that day.
1
@TheUberHammer "Clearly people have objections to the ways some wish to "lower infection rates" for a variety of reasons." The word you're looking for is "effectively". People can whine about it all they want, but lockdowns work. Not that we've seen a lot of them here in the US, most places are using a variety of soft restrictions rather than using a full lockdown method that has seen strong results in other countries.
1
@allaboutroofing2 That must be why almost all the people dying of covid are unvaccinated.
1
@kimdecell5096 Stop them from getting damaged by covid I imagine.
1
@allaboutroofing2 1. Vaccines aren't perfect. While the majority of those dying are unvaccinated, breakthrough cases are still a thing. 2. My biggest concern with the unvaccinated is actually just the sheer number of people dying unnecessarily, but a more brutal angle would be the ability of the virus to duplicate at a much more rapid rate overall in the unvaccinated, allowing new variants to spring up quicker.
1
@kimdecell5096 None. The vaccine has no germs, it's a protein. It also has no toxins, it's just protein, fats, sugars and electrolytes.
1
@doppx You're just listing things that contain what I said, not the things themselves. Viruses for example are mostly proteins. I've never seen someone call a virus "meat" before though.
1
@doppx Your inability to understand what I'm talking about doesn't absolve you.
1
@zombierobin119 Small businesses received loans and funding from those stimulus bills. The money given to the general public also helped fund them. Businesses going under is both inevitable as most small businesses do, and unsurprising given their inability to pivot their business model.
1
@fightfanian Oh please. The wealth gap has been increasing for decades and this pandemic has very little to do with it. Your idiotic claims of the rich being dragged through the streets will just never happen. The only way to change this is political reforms, and people keep being too busy yelling "socialism" at people who would actually make a difference to this dynamic.
1
@fightfanian If the idea of understanding how small businesses and the economy works is that alien to you why did you even comment?
1
@concernedcitizen5971 Bars near me closed while restaurants opened, and people skirted the rules by claiming they had food so they were a restaurant with a bar. Honestly this is why we need a national response to covid, not some pissy local/state response that achieves very little.
1
@scottpecorino6320 And what does "shedding the spike protein" even do considering it's a completely harmless part of the virus taken to allow people top build immunity without getting infected?
1
@letfreedomring2176 And what is that definition?
1
@brianherrala8857 No. When there is a dramatically increased chance of survival arguing that the survival rate is not 100% is ridiculous when it has already been improved dramatically. That's like arguing against seatbelts because you can still die in a car accident while wearing one. Well sure, but the odds are dramatically lower.
1
@brianherrala8857 Unless you get it again. I know 2 people that already caught it twice.
1
@brianherrala8857 Did you just argue it was okay that 2K unvaccinated people died from covid?
1
@brianherrala8857 Wow, very mature. First you deny that people can catch covid more than once by telling me to "go away", then just straight to authoritarian death camps. That being said, standing in line for a potato seems like a win. Best vegetable.
