  1.  @notcomatose6602  I agree with all you say, unless you mean reading the bible as some sort of support. I find the bible itself is a mixture of actual history mixed with grand stories of a god creature that is supposed to be all knowing and all powerful, and we are supposed to grovel on our kneed to that god. In the bible that god kills 2 821 364 people himself, 25 000 000 if you add in the flood and other non-exact numbers. This is not a "good" god. Being on your knees, groveling, is not a good way to be, it builds fear and weakness, not strength of character,. The bible also claims that ALL authority is placed by god, and are to be obeyed. Obey, there is a lot of things to obey, not much freedom. If anything, the biblegod is fine with leaders treating people like shit, after all, they represent him.

  2.  @lindawhitener3002  you mean.. choose to be afraid all your life, of making a mistake that god doesnt like? Did youi know that "taking gods name in vain" even just once, will cause eternal damnation? Not many are bound for any heaving if you choose to belive that book. Not many can live a free life and be happy. A widow can not remarry, women are to be scorned, fathers can ell their daughters if they want to. Yea.. no thanks.

Not much of a god that has to threaten with punishments to make people "adore and obey":P And there is no punishment, no risk, nothing to revolt against. The book "god" is clearly a human isnpired fantasy character:P
