@christianriddler5063 you obey your king? You have some killing to do then. Deuteronomy 13:7-12 ESV
Some of the gods of the peoples who are around you, whether near you or far off from you, from the one end of the earth to the other, you shall not yield to him or listen to him, nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare him, nor shall you conceal him. But you shall kill him. Your hand shall be first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people. You shall stone him to death with stones, because he sought to draw you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. And all Israel shall hear and fear and never again do any such wickedness as this among you. ...

@r32guy85 the vikings abolutely had slaves, but under somewhat different rules. The slaves could buy themselves free after a set time.
This does not change the fact that the bible has NO rules for letting people be free, and over 50 for how to keep a slave. Also several rules for how slaves were to act.
Fathers could sell their daughters in the bible.. that does not promise well for women, as it assumes that women are property from birth.
Yelling about what the vikings did in that context, becomes a strawman argument.
But what else did vikings do? Women had high positions, and as much trust and right to own as any man. Unlike the bible.
People were encouraged to stand tall, and be fair, unlike the bible, where people are told to bend their knees and beg. Being fair is not a big thing in the bible.. taking what you want , and murder anyone who objects is more the norm. Now you COULD say the vikings did this too, but unlike the christians, vikings normally traded, not looted, while the christians raided, looted and forced christianity on people. I still prefer Odin.

@carolmoore1038 yup, making excuses for a god murdering innocent people ( im sure there were a few bad guys in there)
"he can do what he wants" No , he can not, He can not do what he wants and still be called "good".
If you can not see that, then i feel really sorry for you. It is the same thing governments are doing now, they do what they want.. and people suffer. Only thing is.. god does it in the book.. governments do it in reality.
Worshipping some thing , that is admittedly cruel and narcissistic (does what he wants, when he wants), is.. beyond me.
In the bible, god kills 2 821 364 people that we can count. Add estimates, and you have 25 000 000. Add all the wars and deaths caused by people in gods name... and it becomes insane.
In the book, satan kills 10 that we can count, 60, including estimates. Oh, and the 10 were killed on a bet.. with god. Yeah.. book god doesnt give a crap about anyone. How you, or anyone else, can see this petty, little shit as something divine is astounding.

@carolmoore1038 you need someone to put you in your proper place? On your knees, begging for salvation then?
And there is nothing in the bible that says god does not need worship, quite the contrary.. Can you find a timestamp on this one?
Deuteronomy 17:If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant; 17:3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded; 17:4 And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel; 17:5 Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.

@carolmoore1038 Lol, well murder to me, is to kill people because you want to. God does that all the time. And even if you call it "killing" rather then "murdering", you are still in trouble :P
Remember this one ? " Thou shalt not kill"`?
But if we look at it closer.. it is not what it seems... It appears to be pretty straightforward, but if we look at the context in which this command was issued, we may want to clarify it somewhat. While under this law Moses, Joshua and the rest of the "chosen" killed millions of men, women, children and infants - nearly everyone they came in contact with (Num.31:7-18; Deut.2:34, 3:3-6, 20:13-17; Josh.6:21, 8:25-26, 10:28-41, 11:8-22; 1 Sam.15:3-8). So we must assume that the commandment might more accurately read - "Thou shalt not kill, unless directed to by a religious leader who has spoken with God." The penalty for killing (except in the name of God) is, well...death. Lev.24:17
So all you need to do, is kill in the name of god, and you are free of blame.. lol.. goodbye.. this is ridiculous.

@carolmoore1038 I am not from USA, I guess that is what you mean when you say America? Or are you canadian? Cuban? Brazilian?
If you check, you will find there are as many religions as there are christians, not 2 have the exact same way of "understanding" that book, and hardly anyone has actually read it. Most of us that are actively against the book, has actually read it.
One does not have to be an anarchist to not believe the bible, or be for or against corporal punishment. One can not be an atheist, if one likes to blame "god said so" when applying torture or death on another human.
Absolute power is NOT held by a book god... I would belive he was ok, if he had done ANYTHING good, that was really big, and involved thousands of people.. but he never has, he only kills and makes threats.
And you are a woman.. not even allowed in heaven according to some.. If your father had sold you into slavery.. the bible would have approved.. nice huh. goodbye again, I will not read, or reply to any more you say.. we disagree on too much.
You support genocide, slavery, sex slavery, Even jesus is not pro life :P Luke 19:27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay [them] before me.
You have to kill me now :)
