  2. Since the Carrington event, earths magnetic field, our shield, has lost maybe 30% of its power, and now we are almost in a free fall of loss. This is why auroras are seen in places they have no buisiness being ( if the shield was at 100% we would not see them). If we had a flare of the same strength today, the result would be far worse. One day pf prep wont do.
