  7.  @Cecilia-ky3uw  No it is not. A herbivoric diet will destroy their health over time. And it would be a supplement diet as much as it is a plant diet. They would always lack essential nutrients, due to them being non/low bioavailable in both plant and supplement form. With a carnivorous digestive system, digestion of plants is really terrible. Herbivores are either frontgut or hindgut fermenters. Humans are neither. Herbivores have a stomach acid PH of around 4, Humans are around 1,5 to 2, on par with vultures and hyenas. Herbivores get their B12 from the bacteria that ferment the plants they eat. In ruminants it is absorbed directly, but in hundgut fermentors.. that depend on a large ceacum ( which we dont have). they gain their B12 by eating cecotropes. That is, they poop out a substance that is a bit different from plain poop, and eat it. Now, humans also make their own B12, but , since we started eating meat, and gained all we needed there, we lost our big ceacum, and the ability to make cecotropes. This means that herbivore humans need to eat their own poop for B12.. or depend on supplements. Meat with the fat on, contains every single nitrient a human needs to thrive, and it is all bioavailable. And why would you want people to pretend to be herbivores anyway? Modern Crop farming kills more mammals and birds than the meat industry does, it also kills fish, amphibians and insects, and destroy soil. A field of grazing cattle is not harmful to anyone or anything. It allows for biodiversity, and it improves and builds soil. So what seems more natural and nature friendly to you? Live by eating locally sourced and raised meat ( one cow feeds one person for one year, if that is all they eat).improve soil, and allow water and fields to remain biodiverse and clean. Or.. grow monocrops of plants, that are not found in nature but are human made, deplete soil, kill everything else to protect said crops. Then transport that crop all over the world, so that herbivore wanna be humans, can have their papaya and bananas in midwinter NY.
