@that1guy229 You need no butter with that kind of bacon,. and he did put salt on the egg before eating. Plenty of flavor without the need for a lot of spices. How on earth did you manage to make this about race???

@dvran animal fats allowed us to evolve.. becoming afraid of the foods we used to eat is making us devolve. Vegan brains shrink even... our brains are mostly fat, and the correct fats are from animals only. The fat is bad hype, came from a very flawed study.. and has since been disproven:)

@censusgary the world is on lockdown, for the first time ever in history, because of a "pandemic" with a lethality rate of 0,03 % of tested and confirmed individuals, and we no longer have plagues??? Starvation is still a fact for many on a daily basis in all countries, cholera and typhoid, only a problem if you can not get clean water, or clean your water. Pirates, still exist, wars, worse than ever. I do not see any benefit of these modern times at all. Not only do we still have all the old diseases, we have created hundreds of new ones. Not only do we have local wars, but now, we also have enemies on the other side of the world to worry about. Freezing to death, still happens.. what to do when electricity goes out and you have no fireplace? YOU may not feel worried about these things, but they are far from gone, and a daily issue for very many people. In addition, we have a ton of new rules to follow, new taxes to pay, people who will pick up the children you thought were yours, if you try to say something government does not agree to about childcare. I am not talking about abuse, or fantaic religion, but homeschooling is illegal in a lot of places... vaccines are against the Nuremberg protocols, and are not harmless... I could go on for a long time, but get your head out of where ever you put it, and look up.. everyone does not live just like you do. Oh, and due to this years horrible weather and other disasters, starvation may come knocking even on our doors soon.

When my grandmother was young, she would spend summers with the cows, in a timber house buildt in 1600something. That building is still standing, and in better shape than any of the ones in this video. It was moved to a museum in 1957. For anyone wanting to take a look at it, Google " Hynnestua " , maybe add "Vestfold, Norway" to make sure google gets your point:P

This comment section seems to have landed on.. who is better.. rather than WHAT is best for nature..Humans are funny that way:P Was nature better off in general before the settlers arrived? Yes. Does that mean that every native was thinking about preserving it, rather than getting as much as he could from it? No. Does it imply that every settler was an evil bastard that just came to bring destruction? No. Modern life, with all its pollution and monocropping destroys the land around us.. and we live NOW , so what are WE doing to reverse this tragedy of toxic waterways and soil erosion?

Cholesterol is not an issue for health.. this has now been fiormly established in several scientific papers. Having high cholesterol is not a worry unless it is through the roof. In fact, low cholesterol may be more damaging.

@najroe thank you, so, did your grandmother use lingon in place of raisins, or in addition to raisins? I live in norway, so finding lingon is way easier than finding grapes for raisins:)

if that was dangerous, people would no longer exist. Todays people are way too worried about sterilizing everything.. it will make us all sick in the long run.

@charlesmay8251 a log cabin my grandmother used to live in as a child, herdig the cows, are now in a museum. It was old when my grandmother was there. It was buildt in 1685, and was sold to a museum in in 1956. It is still in good shape, and could be used for several hundred more years. Edit. If you want to see it, look up :Hynnestua, Tønsberg. Then go to images.. Hynnestua is the building with a long porch along the top level.

meat may be more costly, but it is the only food that contains all a human need to stay healthy. And I said STAY healthy. Plants can be hard to digest, and does not have all the nutrients we MUST have. They also have a lot of different toxins and anti nutrients. This is natural plant self defense, herbivores vary what plants they eat ( most of them the Koala is rather dumb), but humans do not have the digestive system needed for a plants only diet. Grains are really just sugar and fibers, no real nutrients at all.. But eat what you have to stay alive.. just try to get fish, meat and eggs when you can. Edit: Crops, including grains, have been feiling vastly these last few years.. dont expect anything to be cheap.

I winder about the glazing inside the different vessels.. there are also blue patterns.. what made that color? Salt is a wat to glaze something at hime quite safely, but can it be used inside.. if it can, can one paint it with salt before burning? and if it can not.. then what is used inside to make the vessels useful and foodsafe?

You prefer todays food, with hardly any nutrients left in them, antibiotic riddled meat, fruit and veggies stock full with pesticides and herbicides? In cities, yes.. bakers sometimes would cheat and put less than good things in the flour to get more bread out of it, but homecooked meals would be fine.. I mean, if it was as dangerous as you seem to fear, people would not be able to do a thing, as they would spend all their time having the runs..:P

@drake000666 I am aware of the stuff they put in bread :) Sawdust is still used in modern breads, it is just not listed as cellulose. High fructose cornsyrop is used in everything, and it is a chemical concoction that is proven to be the cause of , and/or part of the reason for multibpe health issues. Back then, cattle ate grass, then they were killed and parted for sale. Today, lots of cattle are fed corn, which makes them sick, and the meat below par quality, full of stress hormones etc, Then they are killed and parted for sale. Chickens were fed some grains, but were otherwise left to find their own food, leading to healthy chickens, and good meat and eggs. No, people were not more greedy and dumb then. They may have known a bit less chemistry, but most of them would know how to get by if they had to.. todays people have mostly lost all those skills, and most have no more clue about chemistry or biology, than they did 200 years ago. Greed is every bit as prevalent today, as it was back then.. you may not notice it as much, as now we have an elite class that owns everything, while the rest of us are more or less serfs to the ruling class.

the door could be fixed with narrower boards, not between the current boards, but wide enough to cover the gap between them. Secure them in the middle of the gap, this gives the door planks room to expand and shrink, without any gaps appearing for snow.

For us modern humans, famine is still a real possibility. We know far less than we think we do, so maybe mentioning new research on foods may be a good thing. Humans can live, and thrive on meat alone ( including the fats), but we can NOT thrive on plants alone, or even mainly plants. We evolved from eating plants to becoming hunters and meat eaters, and have lost our ability to utilize plant material efficiently, and we are also susceptible to the damage of plant toxins ( every plant has toxins and antinutrients of sorts). Children that are raised "plantbased", tend to not develop well, stunted growth and lowered IQ as a result of lacking nutrients that can only be found in meat and the fats that go with it. Plants are survival foods at best, like in this video.

I was under the impression that the meat used for pemmican should never be heated so much that it got cooked in any way . It is supposed to remain raw, and just dried . Apparently this was to avoid losing nutrients, and also prolongs storage abilities. Today's meat should be cooked though.,. more often than not.. Informations source : The Lost Ways ( a book).

Here in norway, you will find pog heads in the store.. we still use it to make different foods.
