  16. Not strictly true tbh? The region was over run by the Muslim conquest in the 7th century. Many Christians were forcibly converted to Islam. However a large Christian population existed until recent times. However their birth rate was smaller than their Muslim population. They were simply outbred. Many immigrated too.
