  1. In the mid 1960s at my Catholic school in Gateshead, once a year we were given a picture of the Virgin Mary. On the back were 30 boxes. Everyday for 30 days, we were supposed to bring a Penny in, and the teacher would sign the box. Half my class mates never had coats on their backs. The money was sent to Africa for the "Poor Blaq Children". 60 years later they still are rattling the begging bowl.

  4. Powell let us down tbh. After the speech, he should have formed a Patriotic Party. He didn't. He disappeared to the Political Wilderness of Northern Ireland and drew a nice salary as a so-called Unionist MP.
