  1. I started on Building sites aged 18. In 1978.I learned my trade on the job with an old fellow. He learned me everything over the next 4 years. I'm a skilled Tradesman, but ain't got a qualification to my name. I can't even get the Blue or Gold CSCS card because I've no proof I'm skilled at what I do, despite working on Building sites for 45 years.

  3. Why aren't we training our own youth to be tradesmen? If there's a shortage, reduce the school leaving age to 14 again. Many youth are ready for work at 14.
