  5.  @thereddhare let me rephrase: Muslim scholars should not use the term AD because it refers to Jesus as being a god. CE is more appropriate if you want the world to continue using your church calendar.

  8. ⁠ @pepenero6168  language and culture changes all the time and influenced by many different peoples, etc. most secular western scholars say CE today! its not “unnatural” to change terms, this is not like changing history or censoring facts, like what the west is doing today with so many things!

  9.  @Seraph2077  like i mentioned before, I have no issue with BC meaning Before Jesus Christ because "christ" is simply greek for "anointed", or "Messiah" in Hebrew and Arabic. whereas "AD" or "Anno Domini" translates to; “In the year of our Lord”, this is a major problem for monotheist Muslims and jews. although jews would also have a problem with the word christ being used for Jesus because they do not accept him as their messiah, whereas we Muslims do! this is not a "pedantic" or minor issue for us Muslims because this is considered as promoting or at least approving of idolatry or shirk; in Arabic, which is the unforgivable sin in Islam together with disbelief or kufr in the Arabic language.
