  1. in islam ‘deen’ or ‘the religion’ is; ‘a way of believing and living’ which was practised by all prophets and messengers of Allah throughout time, even though many of them had no followers at all and were completely denied by their people. for example Abraham was guided while he was in his home town and nobody accepted him as a Messenger of Allah not even his own father and they tried to burn him but Allah saved him and then commanded him to leave alone for Palestine. even though he was alone he is considered to have been a nation all on his own following the way commanded by his God. He has ordained for you of religion what He enjoined upon Noah and that which We have revealed to you, [O Muḥammad], and what We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus - to establish the religion and not be divided therein. Difficult for those who associate others with Allāh is that to which you invite them. Allāh chooses for Himself whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns back [to Him]. ~ Quran • 42:13 many more verses like this that explains what is religion, in particular the religion of Allah for his servants.
