  1. interesting! so basically no matter what religion the turkic people follow be it the Turkish Muslims, Hungarian Catholics or Gaguzian orthodox christians, they somehow find a way to anger the “west” and show at least some respect for the Russians. lol

  2.  @JamesKerLindsay  for most people, in most cases, religion comes first and then culture/language and ethnic heritage. that is probably why the Gagauz people feel closer to Russia because it is seen as an orthodox christian country and the protector of their religion. I myself put faith in Allah/God and my religion - islam first, before anything else and I say this this as a white European Muslim revert from atheism, brought up in England with a British culture but being ethnically Albanian.
