@gazza595
The UK joining the EU again will go like that:
the UK has to apply for EU membership by fulfilling the Copenhagen Criteria FIRST (which would be monitored by the EUs Commission), if none of the EU27 member states vetos the UK/GB joining the EU again, only then the UK/GB would receive the status as a "candidate for EU membership", and then the 35 chapters (which would be monitored by the EUs Commission) have to be fulfilled/implemented properly, which could take decades.
No exceptions, no cherry picking, no fast track, no opt outs, as stated by various EU spokesmen recently.
It's mandatory for ALL NEW EU member states, to join the Schengen area and adapt the β¬/Euro, as soon as the new EU member state has a stabile enough economy.
Estimated time needed for a country, joining the EU, about 15ish years, AFTER fullfilling the Copenhagen Criteria...as stated by various EU spokesmen/negotiators, due to experience of other countries "joining process".
The UK is moving away from fulfilling the Copenhagen Criteria recently...
Before any of this might happen, it would be urgently needed education about the EU, how it works and what it's for, that there is a Parliament with its democratic elected MEPs (with PR), working on behalf of the democratic elected EU27 member states Gvts and their 450ish million citizens, otherwise the UKs electorate might vote "leave" again at the following GE, and the EU27 definetely wouldn't want a "Brexit 2.0 " again.
Greetings from the EU27 π

@Huw Zebediah Thomas
....and as stated by Barnier "the EUs doors are always open for the UK....... UNDER THE KNOWN CONDITIONS", which is THAT part of the sentence, which seems to "get forgotten"....

About the topic of this vlog: it's not even on the table over here in the EU, as a French-German think tank had a "brainstorming" about that subject only, but NOTHING official...
Btw, at the moment the UK is moving away from fulfilling the Copenhagen Criteria....
Estimated time for "joining the EU" about 15ish years, including the timespan needed for fulfilling the Copenhagen Criteria BEFORE a country can apply for EU membership... stated by EUs spokesmen and negotiators.... known due to EUs experience from other EU membership applicants...

@adyy83 NO.
As I wrote in my first answer to you, were I explained all institutions of the EU...
The PM of the UK doesn't get elected by the Brits, please get informed before posting..
The German Chancelor doesn't get elected either, but the party, which states upfront, which MP will be the candidate for chancelorship...
Same goes for the EUs Parliament, btw, the candidates for Presidents (Parliament and Commission) get recommended by the EUs Council and get elected by the EUs Parliament/MEPs, which are working ON BEHALF of the EUs citizens.
The British voting system is FPTP, where a party /Tory's can win a 80 seat majority with 34% minority... if you call THAT democratic... well...
All EU member states and the EUs Parliament have the PR voting system, which is the most democratic voting system available...
Btw, next year elections are coming up in the EU...for a new Parliament etc π
Good night π

@stevemitchell1454 Sure...π€£
Please look up for Wolfspeed, a US company which will build a gigafactory for semi conductors at the Federal State of Saarland/Germany.
Infenion near Dresden
Bosch near Dresden
TSMC (Taiwanese company which will build a gigafactory for micro chips) at Silicon Saxony near Dresden
Intel near Magdeburg
Northvolt near Hamburg
Ford near Cologne
VW is building 3 gigafactories for EVs batteries, one at Lower Saxony/Germany, one in Sweden in cooperation with Northvolt and one in Spain or Portugal.
Etc, etc ..
Germany is in the EU27...π,
the EU27 is "looking" east, doing some more trade deals, like it recently did with NZ, still at negotiations with Australia, mercosur, and other countries around the world.... usual business π
Btw, my in England living English family and friends told me, it's going really good over there with the crumbling raac buildings, potholes in the roads, disappearing NHS converting into a private health system US style, food banks for hospital staff at hospitals, stripped down protection of labourship, environment, banking, striking and demonstrating rights, sewage in all British waters...and the UK is loosing about Β£100 billion per year since Brexit | Bloomberg π€£π
