No. He is talking about, that the UK doesn't even fulfill the needed criteria for APPLYING for EU membership at the moment. That it takes about 5ish+ years to fulfill the Copenhagen Criteria. And that joining the EU takes minimum 15+ years AFTER fullfilling the Copenhagen Criteria FIRST.. Apart from = every EU member state can leave the EU27 on its own free will, but it's up to the EU27 only, to decide, which country can join the EU and when.

Strangely the Tory's were in for 14 years, now Starmer is in for a couple of months only, and all if a sudden you Brits expect him to sort 14 years of Tory's left overs within a few months...🙄

Ahhh, "empty shelves in the EU27"? 😂 Germany short before "collapsing? 😂 "EUs army" 😂 Germany is worlds third largest economy, has AAA ranking/Fitch, a national debt of 66,3% Those right wingers make up about 18 %, therefor the "other" 82 % didn't vote them, thanks to the PR voting system 😊 Empty shelves we never have over here anywhere within the EU27 😊 EUs army would work the same as NATO does = national armies with a rotating leadership and troops... Everything was sorted and got prepared for Brexit the day AFTER the referendum happened...the EU27 were ready the day Brexit happened !! And those € 2,33 per month/head of us 450ish million EU citizens to "compensate" the loss of the UKs EU membership fee is affordable... As the UK never paid its full membership fee due to the "Brit bargain", infact it were about one third of it only, the permanent demands of opt outs etc, it's recognisable, that since the UK left the EU27, the EUs member states are working together much smoother and faster.. Apart from, that the UK doesn't even fulfill the needed criteria for APPLYING for EU membership at the moment. Estimated time needed for joining the EU are minimum 15+ years AFTER fullfilling the Copenhagen Criteria FIRST. @davetekannon Well, as stated in my other response to you = UKs electorate can hold as many referenda as wanted, still doesn't change anything, hence it's up to the EU27 only, to decide, which country can join the EU and when. Apart from, that the UK doesn't even fulfill the needed criteria for APPLYING for EU membership at the moment.. To solve that issue = fulfilling the Copenhagen Criteria = will take ages, as one of the needed criteria is a national debt of max 55-60 %, the UKs national debt is at 101,2 % recently...we're talking debts of about £ 1 trillion at the moment, the UK has to get rid of...

Leaving the EU automaticly includes leaving the EUs SM/EEA/CU, according to article 126 of the EEA Agreement !! EEA = EUs SM NOT negotiatable !! EEA Agreement = SPECIFIES that membership is open to member states either of the EU and or EFTA member states ONLY !! Norway and Iceland /EFTA, are stating since years, that they'll veto the UK joining EFTA, because they don't want a "trouble maker in their club". Only option available for the UK is to apply for EU membership by fulfilling the Copenhagen Criteria FIRST. The UK doesn't even fulfill the needed criteria for APPLYING for EU membership at the moment. Right now there are various EUs member states, which wouldn't even take UKs application form for EU membership.

@marinusvos Yes. It'll take decades...as they'll need to get the national debt from 101,2 % down to 55-60 % as well...that alone is a real challenge ...

@Chrislayeruk1 Yes. It's very strange, that no officials are talking about the elephant in the room, but may be parts of the British electorate aren't ready for the truth yet? British media aren't very helpfull either until now, and Reform UK Ltd is still spreading the same since years as well... On the other hand, when Starmer was travelling around within the EU27, visiting various EUs member states gvts, he was asking the same cherry picking stuff like the Brexitters did, therefor Starmer got told, that "the UK should finally fully implement ALL deals, it signed with the EU27"...it didn't go too well..

 @igzer1 Norway is EFTA member, there are four EFTA members... There are 27 EU member states = 30 countries are EEA member states, Switzerland only partly...

"The EU27" are a peace project based on solidarity and respect for all EUropean member states with its SM/EEA included to benefit its 450ish million citizens and its member states !! The EUs COUNCIL = the EUs member states GVTS and the democratic elected MEPs (with PR) are the rule/law/decision makers in the EU. "The EU " ARE the EU member states !! Starmer is 62 now.....Joining the EU = minimum 20ish + years...= not in his lifetime, apart from, he gets as old as Queen mum 😂

Brexit happened because of EUs ATAD = Anti Tax Avoidance Directive only, everything else around it was just there, to get the Brits to vote against their own interests..
