@pix178 Germany is forwarding natural gas to various countries like Ukraine, Poland, Tchechia, Austria and others. Ah, and: its the largest money giver in the EU. And the second largest donor country worldwide including humanitarian aid.

A friend near Nottingham told us that the Uk has energy problems/ shortages itself?

@irustv7674 The German solar parks recently produced more energy than all French nuclear power plants together. Not even talking about German windmill parks here. Btw: nat gas used for proceeding things like steel, glas, paper, medical units, Aspirin, dairy products etc. In the near future nat gas will be replaced with green hydrogen. The coal power plants will be only temporarily used as emergency power back ups in the winter.

@MT2K244 France had to shut down half of its nuclear power plants because of low water levels in the rivers due to the recent heat wave. Reactors need river water for cooling. Germany is doing the back up power. Btw: German solar power plants produced recently more energy than all French nuclear power plants together. Not even talking about the German windmill parks here. @Mic_Glow Don't know where you live, but the Netherlands, Danmark and Germany startet this project called "green hydrogen coast line", Fraunhofer Institut Bremerhaven is included, supported with subsidies from the EU, the recent German Gvt, the federal states of Bremen and Lower Saxony. Hydrogen can be used as storage battery for the offshore windmillparks. The under recent construction floating LNG terminals will be convertable to green hydrogen terminals and will be completed end of 2022. Answering your question: my original post was about nuclear power plants and coal power plants, therefor my answer about solar power etc. Germany wants to replace nat gas/ fuel/ petrol/ diesel (coal anyway)with green hydrogen in the near future. The recent Gvt had a deadline for that, because of the terrible war it all has to go in "fast forward" now. Greetings from Bremen 😉

@axelv1753 Germany is fine with electricity, natural gas is the problem here because its not only needed for heating but also needed as raw material for proceeding things like glas, steel, paper, medical units, Aspirin, dairy products etc.

@msxcytb As I wrote before: nat gas is used as a raw material for producing things and not as electricity! Forgot to say: Germany is fowarding nat gas to the Ukraine, Poland, Tchechia, Austria and various other countries as well! Sorry, but you obviesly don't know about central heatings? The boiler/ heating system is decentral in its own room, from where the hot water for the radiators plus warm water gets heated and distributed around the whole building! Don't know where you live, but here in Germany we don't sit in front of open gas fires which eats up oxygen.
2
@msxcytb Forgot to say, you mentioned, producing steel etc, nat gas could easily be replaced with electricity, while I wrote, that nat gas is used as RAW MATERIAL. Example: you want to produce concrete, one of the ingrediants is sand. How would you replace sand by electricity? That would be a real world beating advantage. LOL
2
@msxcytb Sad about those 600 people, don't know about what circumstances they where living in. Doesn' t seem to bother you, that Germany forwards nat gas to the Ukraine and the other mentioned countries eh? It was YOUR statement, that electricity can replace nat gas as raw material for proceeding steel, glas etc. I just gave you the obviesly needed info, as you didn't seem to understand the term of "raw material" in connection with nat gas. This is why I used sand/ concrete as an example, because its easier to understand than nat gas as raw material. Thats it for now!
2
@msxcytb Forwarding nat gas is a European project and very normal in the EU. Ukraine was connected towards Germany after the beginning of the war, like the other ex east bloc countries (electricity net), as all of them where still connected to Russia since being part of the (ex) UDSSR. You still don't seem to understand the principle of an central heating. Its a closed system with water filled radiators, the water in the radiators gets heated up by the "heating boiler", which is ALWAYS in a different room or different building. The nat gas arrives in pipes underneath ground, very safe! Greetings from Germany 😉
2
@msxcytb Forgot to say: Germany is on the way to replace nat gas/ diesel/ fuel/ petrol with green hydrogen in the near future.
2
@yasminesteinbauer8565 This is why there is this project between the Netherlands, Danmark and Germany called "green hydrogen coast line", Fraunhofer Institut Bremerhaven is involved and its supported with subsidies from the EU, the recent German Gvt and the federal states of Bremen and Lower Saxony. Hydrogen will be used as well as battery storage for the offshore windmillparks. Greetings from Bremen 😉
2
It will be used only temporarily, don't worry! As an emergency back up in the Winter time.
2
geranienbaum Have you been reading my post to Mic_glow? Obviesly not!

@elbentos7803 To compare alcoholics with renewable energy/ temporarily coal power plants is a bit strange. Germany's electricity is already powered by 48% with renewables (wind, solar, water). If the terrible war wouldn't have started, we wouldn't even talk about this subject! The original time table is (still) focused to be completely on renewable energy (including green hydrogen) for 2030-2045. The EU/ Germany will completely convert onto green hydrogen.
2
Well, can't be that bad than as Germany is the second largest donor worldwide including humanitarian aid and the largest money giver in the EU. We have a saying over here: money doesn't stink if it is for free.

@reddragon100 I don't know, but listening to UN and UNICEF, they are in desperation for financial and humanitarian support all the time. Its not only "cash", but also things like building hospitals including equipment, wells for drinking water, schools, mini solar panels on houses in the middle of nowhere for each household etc. All adds up and helps.
1
@reddragon100 ok, I only took the official figures. But there you see, how little the richer countries pass onto the other countries. I think, it would be recognisable, if Germany would stop its support. Greetings from Germany 😉
1
@reddragon100 I know, but my original post was an answer to somebody who wrote, that Germany doesn't care about others. I normally don't like "showing off" with figures like "second largest" etc. Greetings from Germany 😉

@msxcytb 50% of central heatings in Germany are running with natural gas, on top of that nat gas is needed as raw material for proceeding things like steel, glas, paper, medical units, Aspirin, dairy products etc. About nuclear energy: France had to shut down half of its nuclear power plants because of low water levels in the rivers due to the recent heat wave. Reactors need river water for cooling. Germany is doing the back up power. Btw: the German solar parks were producing more energy recently than all French nuclear power plants together. @msxcytb Then explain to me: whats about the radioactive dumb and the minimum of a hundred thousand years of being radio active eh? Until now human being doesn't have an serious answer on that!! Greetings from "Lucy" ( "first" human being on earth, just to show, how long a hundred thousand years are). It always seems to be very clever to use nuclear power, but in reality its very dangerous as well. Its just more "hidden", because radioactivity is invisible.
1
@yasminesteinbauer8565 exactly! If only Bavaria would start to act as well .... sigh.... But I'm convinced, we'll make it. Greetings from Bremen 😉
1
@yasminesteinbauer8565 Na klar, Strom kommt aus der Steckdose. I understand your anger about Söder and his buddies. He recently had a little clash with Lower Saxonies Ministerpräsident Weil, because he demanded the following from Lower Saxony: more windmills in LS, nat gas fracking in LS, taking the Bavarian radioactive dumb and make shure, that Bavaria receives all the needed energy. Answer from Weil to Söder: hallo Kollege, geht's noch? The (under recent construction) floating LNG terminals in Wilhelmshaven are progressing in time. I' ll think, we' ll make it! Think positive! All the best to you. Greetings to Bavaria 😉

@graveperil2169 Isn't there lots of wind around the Scottish coasts?
1
@PistonAvatarGuy Yup, but: France had to shut down half of its nuclear power plants because of low water levels due to the recent heat wave (reactors need river water for cooling) plus needed maintenance. 80% of French electricity gets produced by nuclear power plants. Germany is doing the power back and therefor produces six times more electricity then normal. The German "energy mix" includes about 48% - recently 41%, because of the "boost" for France) renewables (wind, solar, water) and others, which will be completely replaced by green hydrogen in the near future. Goal is focused on 2030-2045, for the EU/ Germany. Forgot to say, solar/ photo voltaic is also working on cloudy/ winter days, it just produces less. The North of Germany is producing more wind (North Sea and Baltic Sea coast lines), the South of Germany more solar and water (because of the mountains/Alpes) powered electricity. 😉

@dungnguyen-vx2sc There are no bears in Germany apart from some in the Zoos. LOL The largest preditors we have here are in the North Sea, the horsehead seals.

@AlainDuchesneau Watch your national news! You know why Fukushima had the nuclear meltdown? Because due to the earthquake with the following tsunami they couldn't cool the reactors anymore. I guess, you would like that one very much? NOT.
1
@AlainDuchesneau Have a look at long term deseases in Hiroshima and Tchernobyl. Whats about the radioactive dumb, which is radioactive for more than a hundredthousand years? Human being hasn't solved that massive problem until today. Greetings from "Lucy", the "first" human being on earth ( just to show, how long a hundredthousand years are). Green hydrogen is the future. Greetings from Germany 😉
