@yurik8468 Well, Germany is the worlds third largest economy...with 84 million people... Indonesia at rank 16...with 274 million people... The EU27 are the worlds second largest economy in nominal terms...with 450ish million citizens...

@alexeyeryomin2962 Correct. Why? Because it still doesn't fulfill the needed criteria and had been stripping down various rights, like protection of human rights/womens rights, independent justice, free speech/press etc... Which you obviously don't mind, not to have...

The 35 chapters of accession (monitored by the EUs Commission) have to be fulfilled and implemented properly, which could take decades... The EU27 have the same military alliance agreement as Nato has. The recent situation is to support Ukraine and its people mentally etc...

@yurik8468 Application was 28 February 2022...status of "candidate for EU membership " at 23 June 2022...but WITHOUT fulfilling the Copenhagen Criteria, which has to be done now...and Ukraine is working on that... The EUs officials have stated various times, that it won't be before 2030...they know due to experience of other countries joining process... Shame, that Putler doesn't fall out of a window...
