@guitarpro3815 I'm sorry to say, but its the opposite! Every foreign company in China has to make these jointventures, otherwhise no business/ production plants in China.

@hermes667 At 16 other EU ports China has bought terminals or parts of it, like Rotterdam, Antwerp, LeHavre, Valencia Pyreaus etc Hamburg Port is the last EU Port on China's shopping list (btw, its the smallest terminal at Hamburg port, where China will have 24.9 % of).

@gaoxiaen1 Its a common thing to sell partly port terminals to huge shipping companies, like MSC or Maersk or DFDS. The different thing is, that China is a dictatorship, which could be problematic. Btw, are you using Huawei? Or other stuff/ items, where stuff from China is build in? I would think so! Double standards, I suggest :-((

Therefor no say about anything, no influence on port management etc. Its common to sell partly port terminals to huge shipping companies, like MSC, Maersk, DFDS. Difference is that China is a dictatorship. Btw, China has bought in to Rotterdam, Antwerp, LeHavre, Valencia, Pyreaus and 11 other EU ports. The Hamburg Port was just the last one on China's shopping list in the EU.

@Alex-pj8nz Yup, on top of Antwerp its 15 other ports in the EU, like Rotterdam, Bilbao, LeHavre, Valencia, Pyreaus etc. Btw, its a common issue, that huge shipping companies buy themselfs partly a port terminal, like MSC, Maersk, DFDS. And in Hamburg ports its only the smallest terminal with 24.9 %, therefor no say at the politics/ management/ influence at the Hamburg ports. The four largest ports of EU are: Rotterdam, Antwerp, Hamburg, Bremerhaven. They are making sure, that EU trade is working smooth.

@art-543 Ok, thanks! My answer to him was, that every foreign country in China has to do "jointventures with a Chinese company", if the foreign company wants to open a production plant etc. Therefor I didn't blame EU, but its China's protective policy.

@breadnewbie6326 Thanks, didn't know that 😉 Just had a look, China "stripped" the duty for joint ventures for the car industry a couple of years ago. I guess, it's only for "new" production plants, not for the existing ones?!
