โย @TALESCOFFEEย NO.
The EU27 are a pragmatic, rule based organisation/union of independent and souvereign countries with their democratic elected Parliament (with PR) and its MEPs working on behalf of the democratic elected EU27 member states Gvts and their 450ish million citizens.
The EUs Council = the EUs member states GVTS and the democratic elected MEPs are the rule/law/decision makers in the EU.
EVERY EU member state has one voice, Malta (about 550.000 people) the same as Germany (about 84ish million people), every EU member state has one voice.
The EUs SM/EEA is there to benefit its 450ish million citizens, so they can = live, trade, work, travel as they can do in their own countries.
"United in diversity, all for one, one for all, together we're strong", THAT are the EU27 ๐
Greetings from the EU27 ๐

Say whatever you want = it's happening already now = passporting is back in the EU since January this year, June 2025 Euroclearing will follow..
And YES, it's part of the EUs SM = FOM for capital = and the EUs Single Market IS NOT a "platform", but to allow ALL EUs citizens to trade, live, work, travel within 27 countries as in their own countries...
The EU27 wanted to have those services within the EU back after the financial crisis in 2008, but the UK went to court, claiming, that eventhough it's NOT in the โฌ/Euro zone, but EU member state, therefor "is intitled to take care of those services"..
Due to Brexit the EU27 got only back, which should be taken care iof within the โฌ/Euro zone, and not in a 3rd country, which isn't trustworthy ..
Moving those services had been prepared by all involved institutions since the referendum happened..eight years ago..
Greetings from the EU27 ๐

Be happy with your crumbling raac buildings, potholes in the roads, disappearing NHS converting into a private health system US style, food banks for hospital staff at hospitals, stripped down protection of employee rights, environment, banking, striking and demonstrating rights etc, raising figures of Victorian deseases, like scurvy and rickets, heat or eat issues, sewage in all British waters, etc...
Thanks for Brexiting with greetings from the EU27 ๐

Well, the UK was a EU member "a la carte", demanding opt outs all the time, never paid its full membership fee due to the "Brit bargain", was blocking EUs projects like the "EU army", the last ten years of its membership...even shortly before the referendum Cameron spoke with the EUs negotiators, to demand another opt out = to stop FOM for ALL EUropean citizens, NOT THOUGH the UK, while threatening the EUs negotiators with a Brexit referendum at the same time..
Since the UK left the EU27, the EUs member states are working together much smoother and faster as before, decisions get done faster as well ...
On top of that = before the UK could join the EU again (apart from the needed criteria for APPLYING/joining the EU) the UKs electorate needs to get educated about the EU, how it works and what it's for, that there is a Parliament with its democratic elected MEPs working on behalf of the democratic elected EU27 member states Gvts and their 450ish million citizens, otherwise the UKs electorate might vote "leave" again at the following GE, and the EU27 definetely wouldn't want a "Brexit 2.0 " again.
Greetings ๐

The EU27 NEVER was a "common market" only, as agreed already in the treaty of Rome in 1957... =
"The treaty of Rome set up the EEC = bringing together Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, to work together towards Integration and economic growth through trade...it established a common market based on the free movement of goods, people, services and capital".
After 47 years of EU membership plus 4 years after Brexit you still don't seem to understand the EU, how it works and what it's for...oh dear...so sad...never mind ๐

Some facts again =
Fitch affirms UK rating AA-
outlook negative
Fitch affirms Germany rating AAA
outlook stable
Fitch affirms the EU rating AAA
outlook stable
UKs national debt is at 101,2 %
Germany's national debt 66,3 %
Despite the technical recession in 2023 Germany is the worlds third largest economy since 2023 ๐
While the UK, also being in recession, dropped from worlds fifth largest economy to sixth rank in 2023..
The EU27/Germany are in transition going green, the EUs "green deal" has a value of โฌ ONE TRILLION for going green, to support the EUs member states and their economies/industries by going green...
Please look up for =
Wolfspeed, Infenion, TSMC, Intel, Bosch, Northvolt, Microsoft, Ford, VW, etc, etc = all these international companies are building gigafactories in Germany..
Arcelor-Mittal Bremen steel mill and Saarstahl steel mill received โฌ 1,3 billion EU subsidies each to build their own electrolyseurs/windmills and arc furnaces to produce green steel in the near future...no job losses either...

Well, the EU27 dropped their Russian nat gas imports by more than 80ish %, not too bad for 27 countries with their 450ish million citizens...
Opposit to the UK, where the City of London still is the largest laundromat for laundering dirty Russian money, more than ever since the war...
It's quite amusing, that the UK/ and its people, is looking towards the EU/Germany/France more than ever, since it left the EU27 ๐
It's distracting from the recent status quo of the UK....infact it should be rather the opposit = showing all the other nations/EU27 included = how brilliant and successfull Brexit was/is, instead of showing = look, EU is "much worse than us and collapsing again since decades at any minute" ๐
Oh dear, so sad...never mind ๐

Why should 27 countries/EU, change their rules to benefit one 3rd country/UK, which left the EU on its free will, and wants to be back in because of its economical desperation?!!
If a country urgently wants to join a "club/EU", where ALL rules are well known upfront, but doesn't even like those rules, then = it should stay out of the club !!
OUR CLUB, OUR RULES !!
Joining the EU is NOT to "negotiate", but it goes like that ONLY =
the UK has to apply for EU membership by fulfilling the Copenhagen Criteria FIRST (which would be monitored by the EUs Commission), if NONE of the EU27 member states vetos the UK joining the EU, only then the UK/GB would receive the status as a "candidate for EU membership", and then the 35 chapters have to be fulfilled/implemented properly (which would be monitored by the EUs Commission), if not done properly, joining process stops instantly, which could take decades...
It's mandatory for ALL NEW EU member states, to join the Schengen area and adapt the โฌ/Euro, as soon as the new EU member state has a stabile enough economy.
No exceptions, no cherry picking, no fast track, no opt outs for any country in the world, not even for Ukraine being at war, as stated by various EUs negotiators/spokesmen various times since years.
And again it goes = the UK doesn't even fulfill the needed criteria for APPLYING for EU membership = a national debt of max 55 %, the UKs national debt is at 101,2 % recently.
As it's mandatory for ALL NEW EU member states, to adapt the โฌ/Euro = it's needed for EVERY applying country = to have a national debt of max 55 % !!
No negotiations = just a "list", which has to be "worked of" to join the EU27 = and IF YOU would have looked up the EUs joining criteria, as written before = I didn't need to explain it to you again...
Reading helps...mostly ๐
EUs joining criteria =
article 49 TEU
And NO, I'm NOT "anti British", as half of my family are British...but my London born spouse and I are living in the EU27...

ย @memarkiamย Oh dear...
Reading helps...mostly ...
I NEVER stated anything like that...BUT =
it's correct = NO 3RD COUNTRY can join the SM = ONLY full EU member states and/or EFTA member states can, according to article 126 !!
I NEVER stated, that = the UK can't join the EU again = BUT, that the UK DOESN'T EVEN FULFILL THE NEEDED CRITERIA for APPLYING for EU membership at the moment...
Meaning = the UK NEEDS to WORK ON its own situation FIRST = get rid of its national debts, get back to EUs standards, like = protection of employee rights, environment, banking etc, demonstrating/striking right etc, etc = THEN the UK might be able = to be ready to APPLY for EU membership = if NONE of the EU27 member states vetos the UK joining the EU...
Those ARE the rules, the EU27 has set = btw, the UK was VERY BUSY, to make those rules as tight as possible, when being a EU member state...oh the irony...
NATO is about military...UK and most EU member states ARE in NATO...
The EU27 are a pragmatic, rule based organisation/union of independent and souvereign countries with their democratic elected Parliament (with PR) and its MEPs working on behalf of the democratic elected EU27 member states Gvts and their 450ish million citizens.
"and of course UK brings big financial clout..." NOPE, but THAT doesn't come into it anyway.. because =
Again, the EU27 are a pragmatic, RULE based organisation/union = the UK doesn't even fulfill the needed criteria...at the moment..
....and NO, finance experts have calculated, that IF the UK would be allowed back in the EU27 with its recent national debts it has = that it would COST EACH EU member state โฌ 40 million per month/per EU member state for about 12 years, until UK would be back on track...
It had cost ALL EU27 member states huge efforts and โฌ billions to get prepared/reroute/restructure because of Brexit, do you really think, that ALL of that gets "undone" quickly, because the UK = wishes so ?
And I'm NOT negative, BUT just stating facts !!
Greetings from the EU27 ๐
