its not gonna happen. More likely C++ devs migrating to Rust. Because C++ is so clumsy and messy, its better to ditch it altogether and start from scratch. C++ is insecure by design and no one has desire and capacity to make it as secure as Rust. You have to discard everything and start from scratch and build the very foundations of language with security in mind. It can't be done with C++, impossible.

@novantha1 Not put C and C++ like this C/C++. C is not clumsy and messy, it is elite foundation language. C++ is indeed clumsy and messy. But I hope for C to be replaced by Rust, because C is legacy and doesn't comply with modern higher demand for memory security-by-design. Do you think we might see a fully Rust-written Linux-kernel in near future?

Memory safety is free. Rust works as fast as C++. It's not free if you count the time needed to learn memory-safe programming. What is for sure not free - is buggy and insecure C++ code, which is easier to write. Not free for companies receiving penalties for security breaches. For disregard C++ devs its of course free, because they are not responsible for anything, just commit buggy C++ code and done, not caring about security at all.

@xhivo97 yeah, I agree. But if majority security issues linked to unsafe memory programming, then why not to move to environment which by design restricts unsafe memory programming. Also agree about prototyping.

@isodoublet very funny. don't joke like this ever again. people might think you're serious.

@isodoublet if had generated, let's say 1K of words long paragraph of bluntness and fed it to you. Would you feel obligated to argument this? Because if not - you lose.

@isodoublet yeah, you are enlighted to your own opinion

@xhivo97 I can't read C++ either. I hated it since I saw structures like cin >> cout <<, which are ridiculous shortenings to my mind and look ugly.

@Kobold666 very close analogy, but yet at the same time is too far. Maybe imagine environment where ignorance, which lead to vulnerabilities, is not allowed. The reason for performance gets worse - has nothing to do with memory safe languages. This has been always happening with released patches coded in C or C++. Remember patches for Spectre and Meltdown, when patches dropped performance by a lot. No memory safe languages involved.

Shame on low view count numbers for this video. Stupid people dont want quality and to get smarter.

LuarieWired, do you like the word Mutex? Sounds so cool, isnt it?

I think no one cares about RISC. No one talking about it except you. Predictions for 2025: 1) AI usage will grow exponentially, hence: 1.1) AMD will earn a lot of money, because they are closer to consumers. 1.2) While NVidia will earn more from corporate customers. 2) RUST popularity will grow at least +15-20% 3) NixOS popularity across corporate and users interest will grow up to 10%. 4) There will be more shift to Linux gaming, can't imagine numbers, but this trend will grow, because Windows 11 - is shit. 5) More users will migrate to Linux because Windows 11 - is shit. 6) More job ads seeking IT specialists with AI background 7) More people sacrificing their lives drowning in constant after-work self-education to keep up with AI-will-replace-you trend to stay up to robustly changing industry.
