We couldn't even make a working biosphere on Earth. I'm pretty sure that until we can make one on Earth there's no chance we'll make it on another planet.

@rampart6925 Kent Hovind has a title, you know? He's known as inmate #06452-017. It's the only title he worked for, got and deserves. Please use it.

@philipfahy9658 Ok, let's entertain that thought. How are we supposed to create a magnetic field on Mars in order to avoid its atmosphere to be blown away by the Solar Winds?

@theultimatereductionist7592 I think making a Biosphere 3 to see if what we learned from B2 would be enough would be the best next step.

@philipfahy9658 Terraform a planet hot enough to melt lead, now that's even better than Mars. If you're going to fail, fail the most epic way possible. You have my attention. Venus is even dryer than Mars, and it's volcanic activity is rare, but super devastating. The more I think of it the worse it sounds. Let me get the popcorn.

@philipfahy9658 1. If connecting the surface of the planet to space was feasible, instead of the most ridiculous thing I've read since the start of 2022, there wouldn't be Global warming. 2. Space is cold, BUT it's also a vacuum, which means that there isn't anything to pull the heat from a body. The only way for things to lose heat in space is by radiation, which is extremely slow and ineffective. In matter of fact, one of TF points in debunking Elon Musk's vacuum train was that, the cooling system in a vacuum. Spoiler alert: it's not feasible in the slightest. You might as well talk about science fiction, it's more credible than pseudoscience.

@theultimatereductionist7592 They could use hydrogen as fuel instead. It's 100 times more dangerous, but it's feasible. I don't think that's the worst of our concerns.

@philipfahy9658 Venus may have a magnetic field, but it also has Sulphuric acid rain. And it's hot enough to melt lead, you're replacing hellish conditions (Mars) with super hellish conditions (Venus) It doesn't matter what you mean with "energy density" (what the heck does that have to do with anything anyway?), when instant death is all someone will get once they set foot in Venus. But hey, at least you have an atmosphere dense enough to actually be able to float, nevermind the small detail of being flattened like a pancake due to an atmospheric pressure of 100 times that of the Earth. The only way to make humans be able to survive in Venus would be by becoming completely synthetic, and even after it still wouldn't be easy.

@philipfahy9658 Oh great, pseudoscience! My favourite. Yes, with pseudoscience everything is possible, unfortunately that's not how it works. For you to be able to ge energy out of heat you need a place cooler, it's the exchange of heat that generates energy. By cooling the hot environment and heating the cold one you get energy out of it up until the temperature balances out. Once you reach an equilibrium no energy can be made out of it. Venus is the same temperature all around it. You get no energy out of it. You can actually get more energy from a temperate environment with large temperature fluctuations (like the Earth), than you can from a super hot environment with little to no temperature fluctuation. As you can see, I know a few things of science, I don't need to have a PHD to know BS when I see it. And your pseudoscience is as BS as they come.

@philipfahy9658 I never said anything against Terraforming, my objection lies in you completely disregarding the laws of thermodynamics.

@emcmadrumline Are you saying the ISS is self sufficient?
1
@philipfahy9658 By stating that you can vent heat to space simply because "space is cold". I expect a statement like that from a child. Are you 15 or under for that matter? Also by stating that you can use Venus heat to get energy. Technically you can, if the purpose is to melt metal. Aside from that you have to get work to convert it to electricity.
1
@philipfahy9658 Oh really? Then what did you mean by claiming that space is cold? Surely you didn't mean to use it to get your temperature difference in order to get work so you could get power from Venus' heat. Because that's exactly how it would be, if it worked I've seen this tactic before, usually they're flat earthers, they make a dumb claim, they get caught, they deny they made such claim and they keep denying even after their comment gets quoted. I'm not going to waste my time with you anymore. I'm just going to say that what you watched was nothing more than a video for entertainment purposes with no scientific validity. While there's nothing wrong with entertainment, don't expect to be taken seriously when you use them as basis for a serious theme. I like entertaining videos too, but you'll never see me using the video about "creepy things in Japan that were normal" by Nutty History as a basis for historical analysis, lest I end up making ridiculous claims like you.
