@scalesconfrey5739 Just because you set limits to what people can do, that doesn't mean science is a pawn of politics.
Peer review is a thing, yes. An experiment that can't be repeated isn't valid.
But that's done everywhere in the world by scientists from other countries with no affiliation between them.
You don't know what the scientific community is like, do you?
If anyone is even suspected of being a fraud they lose all their credibility.
Their career is over.
They don't even need to be frauds, if a scientist makes a contract with some TV channel to make a science kids show chances are that no one will take them serious anymore.
It's a self regulating system where if someone's caught in a fraudulent move they get canned.
No second chances.
I'm just a layman, we all are, there's no point to question a study, other scientists can do it better.
It's a self regulating system where neither me or you have any saying in it.
Unless, of course, you manage to make some groundbreaking discovery.
In that case, there's a Nobel prize waiting for you.
Until then, you have the same credibility as a discredited scientist.
