  1. The size of the monsters doesn't necessarily make the place more deadly when giant monsters means there's food everywhere and they won't actively hunt you. I.E. Sharks and killer whales do not see humans as food, we're too lean.

  3. The monsters you describe indicate an unholy amount of photosynthesis and shelled filter feeders in the ocean. So much that one must wonder what the physical climate was like because this density of life is simply not possible today
