  3. According to what sources I found, the sterilization was simple hate crimes committed by many doctors and was one of the topics of major dissidence during the Communist days. It was common practice simply because discrimination against Gypsies wasn't uncommon and people could take advantage of the extreme levels of trust within state institutions.
