This report isn't actually about Sprska, it's a rehash of the breakup of Yugoslavia.

The last historian who said that got his rewards revoked.

(Sigh) Belgrade has nothing to do with this. Bosnia is a confessional democracy, meaning towns and persons choose between three citizenships as they wish. Sprska contains most of the ethnic Serbs and most of the border region between Bosnia and Serbia and they have their own legislature, taxes, and army. Sprska is feuding with Bosnia and Herzegovina right now. The only problem anyone talks about is the historiography as Sprska refuses to demonize Belgrade, but I'm sure there's other arguments. Sprska is threatening desist all cooperation with Sarajevo, instantly making them an independent state.

The Bosniaks aren't Turks any more than global perception of the war has anything to do with reality.

Sprska gives no f***s what Moscow thinks

You really need to regurgitate the UN rhetoric about the war as if we all haven't heard it everytime Bosnia is in the news?
2
This has nothing to do with religion

None of them did, bro. Just rumors, trash talk, politicization, and unwillingness to use basic fact finding missions.

@longlivefreedom I'm a military historian and I personally debunked this. First off, everyone is nationalist even if they claim not to be. It's a behavioral thing and not a political opinion. Second, there's no shortage of theoretically viable states in the Balkans. Hence why when war or depression comes borders change quickly in interesting ways. Third, the genocide nonsense came from the intelligence vacuum. All the UN had was the political BS of both sides and they accepted the Bosnian's BS as fact because the Americans sided with the Bosnians. On the ground there was a whole lot of murder of real and perceived militiamen. Winners allowed civvies to flee outside the warzone. And these refugees gave wildly exaggerated ideas of what the battlefield. Reality is always a lot more boring than politics imply.

@worlddd7777 dude, it was caused by the collapse of communism and depression that followed
1
@worlddd7777 that got nothing to do with this

@JebacPresretac101 Idiot reporters like the BBC literally wouldn't know better. All they know about the Balkans is the cursory overview of the war which is why they keep bringing it up. Little do they know the rebels just said that in hopes NATO would intervene. But that doesn't make anything Belgrade said true either

A curious assertion, given this is a case of entire towns rebelling against Sarajevo.

It's a good thing they didn't, then.

It's not a matter of discourse it's a matter of loyalties and guns.
1
It's partisan BS dude. The BBC wouldn't know Bosnia if the Muslims beat them at a kefana.

@phoenix5054 those religious trends exist for the same reason ethnicities and accents exist. Most of the locals spend most of their lives in a given area and each adopt the culture of their neighbors and their kids marry each other. Leading to many trends taking off in one place and falling flat in another. Serb =/= orthodox =/= Serbia Croat =/= Catholic =/= Croatia. Bosniak =/= Muslim =/= Bosnia. In fact, most of the marriages in Sarajevo are across some sort of ethnic/religious/national divide because of the steady exchange of people from all over former Yugoslavia. That's also why war is weird there, because there are innumerable theoretically viable states.
