Comments by "Samson Soturian" (@samsonsoturian6013) on "Can you stop Norway drilling the oil that made it rich? - BBC News" video.
Your assumption is any of these guys know any more about the subjects than the politicized sound bites they regurgitate.

You really think the people who indiscriminately harass oil workers know or care about basic facts of economics?

2:30 Poor presentation. That journalist doesn't realize that glaciers move constantly and shrink and grow with the seasons and with naturally occurring climate change (Norway was completely ice covered during the Ice Age). But I'm afraid that's par for the course in politicized science.

There's so many contradictions in climate fix agendas even if you went feral you wouldn't please everyone. Because you'd have to kill animals.

@crazypasta7749 the sane world would have been more amused at your disembowelment.

Their sovereign wealth fund is a hedge fund. That's fine, but not something to envy.

@airhab does this look like Beijing to you?

Even if they could, they won't. They'd rather ban gas cars and keep exporting gas and whale.

@johnmwakilili why would you?

@johnmwakilili you know how this all started, right? Al Gore ran for President and promised to fix the planet from a problem that at the time was a fringe theory with relatively little study done on it. All current environmental science was built around the politics, not the other way around, and nearly all the studies knew what conclusions they'd publish beforehand.

@johnmwakilili I think you misread me. Politicization does not equal politicians.

@NotMe-vy7bb I didn't say I thought that, I'm a historian not a geologist. I said due to the nature of how the matter cane up a lot of abuse and bad science and misconceptions float around. Take this video for example. The reporter shows how far a local glacier has melted as a symptom of global warming, but he doesn't know what he's talking about. The glaciers where he is have been receding since the last ice age back when all Scandinavia was ice covered like Greenland. Also glaciers move constantly, both physically as it slides across bedrock and they grow and shrink with the seasons and solar cycles. This doesn't debunk his assertions, it just shows he ain't helping.

@NotMe-vy7bb I am not whomever you spoke to then. I speak for no one but me. And nah, the Earth has many shifts in climate historically and there's often no clear reason. There was the Little Ice Age in the 17th century that we only know about because we've read thousands of diaries and letters commenting on the weather. Similar research shows a centuries long subtle climate cycle that effects different continents differently. Cause unclear.

@NotMe-vy7bb just because it's the internet doesn't mean you have to berate everyone. To give you an idea of how glaciers move; Airplanes abandoned on the ice during WWII were completely submerged 60 years later when salvage crews found them. Reason was top ice melted and refroze every year. Likewise, there are little ice ages and warm periods of history that have not yet been explained. The medieval and height of the Roman Empire were strangely warm, while the dark ages and early modern period were oddly cold. All of this is besides how sheets of ice slide across the surface depending on how steep the slope is. All of this doesn't debunk anyone's climate change argument, it simply shows how politics has allowed a lot of garbage to get into allegedly impartial studies.

Could we stop you from lying on the internet?
