  3. That's about 18 months GDP for America. It's like an ordinary person with 50k in student loans. Allow me to explain national debt. Nations can theoretically borrow indefinitely as they aren't limited by a human lifespan. As long as the interest payments are met no one cares. But like people, growing nations borrow cash so they can get their new economies set up faster. Governments will want to provide services and infrastructure whilst not imposing debilitating taxes. America has been growing at around 10% a year for three centuries and currently has the largest GDP in human history, so you can imagine how large a sum will naturally be. This will be reversed eventually. At some people America will fill up, GDP growth will slow, the Feds will raise interest rates, and debts will start being paid off.
