That's silly. The only way that generates money is if taxes exceed 100% of income. That myth comes from jealous bastards who refuse to believe rich people can be kind.

Do a piece on Frank Phillips. Break every oil baron stereotype anyone can imagine.
9
This goon is simply imagining how rich people live
5
It's called clickbait.
5
Normies, not bots. People say stuff knowing it boosts the algorithm
4
@PranavSinganapalli Seriously underrated retort
4
@irlshrek except some people hate normal life and want a cheat code.
3
Found the shoplifter
3
This is why he's the professor and you're the normie
3
@avernvrey7422 I say we draft you just for saying that. My old friends at Benning will straighten out that arrogant attitude real good.
3
How can you talk so much but say so little?
3
Most of the self made billionaires I know of give away a lot of their fortune. Unsurprisingly, they're all workaholics and don't know how to spend it.
3
No he said it was difficult. And his point was you'd have to be willing to throw it all away in God's service. I.E. this is why you see a lot of billionaires give away much of their fortunes as soon as they reach the top.
3
Dude, you can google inflation adjusted values. And no, the dollar hasn't lost that much of it's value. Around the time of the events in question one or two dollars was a good day's wage.
2
@buildmotosykletist1987 Not if you do anything ridiculous. Once you go beyond a 12 hour day or 60 week productivity starts falling due to exhaustion. I once quit on my first day because they were expecting us to work 80 hours or more... I told them I was enrolled in college during the interview. Also, that place was only 30% staffed.
2
Vhut? Rockefeller really did improve the quantity and quality of industry, that's why he was unfathomably rich. And you can't buy power in the civilized world these days. You should here about Frank Phillips, who built a museum out of his own pocket because he didn't want to lay off his workers during the depression.
2
Of course there's robber baron myths. Because greedy bastards hate anyone richer than themselves.
2
They'll edit the video in their head and fill in the gaps with what they suppose to be true... I other words They'll lie about what's in the video
2
@danielstapler4315 Musk sure as hell wasn't the first nor the only EV maker, he is simply the biggest and the greatest.
2
Not exactly. Those shares entitled his partners to... their fair share of profits.
2
Eminent domain applies to anything. We value public utility over personal sentiment. This means if the feds want to buy a strip of your Texas ranch to build a border fence, you can take the value of the land in money. It don't matter what your political opinions are. Never forget. We. Own. You.
2
There never was any genocide or mass land theft from any party on the American frontier. Saying otherwise demonstrates castration worthy incompetence.
1
Vhut? It's his money, he can do what he wants with it. Don't be angry that it ain't your money.
1
@ramela That’s silly, and I'd hate to have to explain basic accounting math again.
1
@youmakeitreal that and most of Musk's net worth is in stocks he won't sell until he retires
1
Shut up, greedo
1
What makes you think any of the sociakists subscribed to this channel watched the video?
1
It's called fraud disguised as a joke @scottfrench9267

One of Vanderbilt's successes was breaking subsidy driven monopolies. One big one was the big ocean steamships were receiving subsidies because of politicians trying to bring jobs (and votes) in their jurisdictions. These steamships did not use subsidies to make rides cheap, but to make them nicer while charging full price. Vanderbilt created a discount steamship that saved money partially by buying no insurance and faced off in the uphill battle. Vanderbilt won because the other guy had grown dependent on handouts that were withdrawn to save money, making Vanderbilt the biggest ocean liner who could afford giant ships. I bring this up because ultimately politics makes no difference.
1
Aren't we all?
1
Shut up and get drafted, punk.

Found the drug dealer

Liars burn in hell.
1
This is a joke, right?
1
@timsteinkamp2245 lose the condescension before you get doxxed. I really think you're trolling Patrick because you think he's British
1
@timsteinkamp2245 oh, you're one of those "it's true cuz I said so" kind of retards? Because if you are, I'm totally doxxing you and torching your house.
1
Because they work, while you do not.
1
Jealous ibn-sharmouta spread lies about anyone richer than themselves. You will find the people spreading the rumors are thieves. Every. Last. One of them.
1
@abhinavmelathil366 you didn't watch the video.
1
@abhinavmelathil366 your integrity
1
@abhinavmelathil366 I'd ratger tell you I know for a fact you steal things.
1
No, just you
1
Get a job, you bum
1
Due to a thing called overtime it's really more efficient for you to work 40-50 hours a week.
1
Bizarre equivalency, as even in the days where corporations were allowed to be governments and have monopolies this was not the norm. Socialism is, by definition, a government monopoly on all business.
1
@GGeloRob define socialism.
1
@GGeloRob that's literally the same thing, just different buzzwords.
1
No one cares
1
@australiannomad4137 said the dropout
1
Lots of people are covering that topic really well
1
Yeah, the history channel doesn't do history anymore but there's "amateurs" on YouTube making better stuff than they ever did
1
Except one is baseless libel spread by greedy bastards
1
If you don't show specific evidence of tax fraud, then it's charity. Does it somehow surprise you successful men are workaholics and not necessarily greedy? Heck, Credit Suise was one of the greediest banks out there and they did themselves in.
1
@likemy is that your way of saying, " I have no idea how it is done, but I assume it is doable?"
1
@frankwithlaughs7200 income tax was started by lincoln in the US
1
@likemy such a bizarre insult. And I'm q military historian. I like to think I know every horror in the world
1
@frankwithlaughs7200 thank you
1
@IamGrimalkin oh god, DO THE MATH PENDEJO! Giving $1000 to charity reduces taxable income by $1000. If you are taxed at 30%, this reduces your tax burden by $300. The fraud part is completely unrelated. Basically, it's when you transfer money to yourself or someone you owe money to and count it as charity. This is tax fraud. It's easy for normal people to get away with in small amounts as you can simply claim to have made regular cash donations to church. But rich people have IRS auditors assigned to them and famous people have idiot reporters scrutinizing their lives. It would take a far more elaborate scheme for anyone to get away with that, and I know of no such allegation against any rich guy you would have heard of. There was the "Queen of Mean" who infamously said "Taxes are for little people." She went to prison for tax evasion.
1
@IamGrimalkin Dude, read the second paragraph of my last comment
1
Not all of them.
1
As if you're not an equal participant in that?
1
Buffet and Bill Gates both would be the richest man in the world if they hadn't given much of it all away. Heck, even Bill Hwang gave to the church far more than he ever spent on himself. Other billionaires fund churches, donate to science, or invest in unprofitable ventures because of their public utility. One Israeli rich dude was also a skilled pilot and bought a major stake in a space contractor so he could appoint himself as the astronaut, spending a time on the space station doing science experiments. Heck, many corrupt billionaires like Bernie Madoff only stole so they could give their families lavish lifestyles. Money doesn't matter. They're just men like any other
1
@ericaugust1501 except no one has infinite wealth. Quit illustrating why fools in politics don't understand why the government can't pay pet projects.
1
@ericaugust1501 that doesn't mean rich dudes can give you free stuff
1
@ericaugust1501 You just confessed to piracy.
1
I don't know if his new business model will work, but regardless that cesspool is bad enough that it needs to either to start over again or go the way of the MySpace.
1
Politicians weren't any different
1
@kylek1556 Rioter detected.
1
@kylek1556 you got that from 6 words? You find it hard to grasp that you're easily revealing a lot more about your own vices than anyone else? Shut up and get drafted punk
1
@TheRm65 there definitely was a Jesus, a Jewish rabbi who founded a heretical sect. But regardless, the OP just thought it incongruous that this guy wanted riches to serve God.
1
@lambertois11 You didn't watch the video
1
@lambertois11 Come on, quit pretending to be angry, greedo
1
Self made millionaires are overwhelmingly cheapskate workaholics.
1
@NoneStar You never heard of property deeds? And no, courts require the buyer to pay the current fair market price, but most buyers will offer 110% of that just so no one complains. We can force you to sell your house just like we can force you to put on a uniform and kill a total stranger wearing a different uniform. And you will do it, eagerly and willingly.
1
Take your medicine, Karen

Honest question: Are you schizophrenic?
