  4. There's no way in hell Congress or the bureaucracy is enforcing punitive tariffs on the Mexicans or Canadians. I know we like to pretend they're independent countries but the Americans own their bodies, end of story.

  6. Not quite. In China there are simply so many counterfeiters that it is often impossible to sell a genuine good for a profit because the counterfeiters are competing with each other on price too. And China plays a lot more silly games with business than just subsidies because state-run enterprises are given goods stolen by the army and they're allowed to break China's one anti-trust laws. To say nothing of regulatory abuse where laws are rigged to make it easy for locals to rip off foreign companies. Chinese capitalism is what Communists think all capitalists are like.
