Robinhood tried to get FDIC insurance but couldn't, so they don't advertise that it is insured. In fact, their adds explicitly state you invest at your own risk.

@victordrew7927 the money in user accounts that isn't in a stock. Robinhood offers interest and debit cards like a bank, but they couldn't get FDIC insurance so they changed the name from Robinhood banking to cash management
