Sotoshi never had any intention of monetizing bitcoin, which is why it succeeded as the system was self sustaining. Likewise, Dogecoin is still around because the founder made it as a joke and dumped his stake immediately.

@idontcare9041 Years ago I thought I saw some money in mining bitcoin rather than speculating on which direction it would go. But I was also a broke college student so I gave up when I realized how expensive the equipment was to mine profitably.

@H C Hardeehar. The bank loans out money at a much higher interest than they pay, which is more than enough to pay their employees. How did you think there are 500 year old banks that have weathered so many wars and depressions and natural disasters?

@HamHamHampster No, you're better off buying T-bills directly from the government using their website. They system simply credits the money to the same account that paid in at the current interest rate.
