My hometown of 2500 people has exactly two grocery stores, a G&W and a Dollar General, and the nearest Walmart is 30 miles away. Of course lots of people shop at Dollar General around here.

In recent years, there's been a lot of micro-bubbles where relatively small sectors rise and fall with little correlation to the wider economy.

It made sense when it was small scale where this unregulated currency market existed if you needed it, but these days everyone is using it as an investment vehicle and playing zero sum games pumping altcoins or wielding technicals.

@anon9364 the land part is a misconception. They require a lot of space but the land around them is still farmland. The natural habitat disruption part is wildly exaggerated and no one cares if it were true anyway. The real killer of wind is they're not near as profitable as the current market bubble would have you believe.

@efrans2627 assuming by "free" you mean "become independent," you should realize they're free to go anytime they want. But they don't want to. Also Guam is so much America that Asian tourists will visit there instead of California to save money. They got malls, burgers, theaters, American accents, and they share a military and select social services with the Feds.

Dude, they managed a US company from the Bahamas using the internet. Not much of a problem since the Bahamas and US get along.
