  1. My hometown of 2500 people has exactly two grocery stores, a G&W and a Dollar General, and the nearest Walmart is 30 miles away. Of course lots of people shop at Dollar General around here.

  6. Voice of experience; It isn't near that bad. Turnover is high, customers are jerks, and wages aren't the best, but it's often the only job young students are qualified for........

  7.  @Tii12319  small stores, small crews. No economy of scale. And when I bring up unreasonable customers, I mean that customers give employees more trouble than corporate can. It doesn't matter where you work. If you want to reform something, reform that.
