  15. Don't be silly. They bought companies with mortgages and failed to make enough money to repay those loans. It's like if you bought a house then lost your job and missed too many payments.

  16. @phillyphil1513  not in this case. The management owned all the shares and the shares are now worthless. No one profits from bankruptcy. Golden parachutes exist to make the executives unfireable because there's huge severance packages involved
