  3. Yeah, with their current unmanned space program they use mostly off the shelf tech with competitive pricing and tight launch schedules. This equals a lot of rockets fired per year, but only about half get into space and a lot break once they're up there. And these are estimates because Chinese state run news only reports on failures when stray rocket boosters fall on populated areas.

  8. China may be physically incapable of making its own chips. Specialized multi-million dollar lithographic machines are needed and skilled personnel to run them. No one is willing to sell one to the Communist government and their quests to build their own is hampered by scammer making off with investor dollars while other entrepreneurs get in over their heads and quickly run out of money. China's chip capabilities remain highly limited.
