  12. @MM not exactly middle class because while such people are still very poor by first world standards they are considered the lesser elite in Egypt. Office jobs of any sort are coveted and families holding said positions may refuse to associate with the poorer residents. Yes, many Masri who can't afford electricity consider their neighbors beneath them.
