  1. Correction: Apartheid simply never stopped in Orania and has always been a whites-only town as the area was segregated even before the current residents got there. When Apartheid officially ended, that's when it was voted out of existence on the national level (most segregation laws were locally made and enforced).

  2. The poorest towns have limited physical mobility. This effects their job/school/marriage options.

  5.  @riannnerenalds5044  there's a colored town not far from there, and their own demographics show a handful of colored residents in Orania (I presume someone married into the community).

  7.  @Robert-z8t4m  this is South Africa we're talking about. I know of no Bantustans that banned white people, but some areas were simply not safe for Afrikaners to go as the "informal governments" could do what they wanted.
