Mali shoots themselves in the foot again.
13
Not exactly. They want all the essential services France and allies provide, but France is leaving.

Power. One that the Russians or a Jihadi group might fill

@comrade9374 watch the video
5
Don't make broad damnations when you don't know the specifics
5
Mali is a French ally, not a French colony. And right now the latter wants to leave while the former literally can't afford for that to happen.
4
@comrade9374 Mali's biggest mine owner is the Malian government followed by a list of Canadian, Aussie, and British firms. Do you even know who the Malians are fighting or did you just see the headline and decide to troll with racist BS?
4
@comrade9374 Yeah, should have guessed you were promoting terrorism and racism elsewhere in this thread. What's your real name and address?
3
@comrade9374 When I asked that I meant what's your exact address together with your real name.
2
It's Africa. Democracy and industry and sanitation doesn't exist unless someone foreign imposes on them.
2
@immanuel6084 Why not? America use to see England as an existential enemy. When the Belgian colonists left the DRC the government there tried to bribe them to stay. Japan and America went from murdering each other to best buddies in a few decades. Egypt still uses British style government and armed forces (or at least the fascad of one). There are enclaves surrounded by Morrocco that insist on staying part of Spain. A lot of Algerians have family in France. Britain is allied to Somalia, Kenya, Nigeria, and other former colonies. And so on and so forth. As Churchill said "There are permanent interests, but no permanent friends." Also, I ain't French.
2
Those states are broken with their own internal issues. Haiti with infighting and Cuba with a local recession.
2
@ayoadeyemi420 we did. Hundreds of times. Are you not familiar with the nature of warfare in the that part of the world?
2
No one in the world takes orders from you
1
@patrickdayton2080 first, are you threatening me? Second, most of Mali's legal system cones from when they were a French colony. Third, I ain't French.
1
@listenup2882 don't you have a shock therapy session to attend?
1
@henrydin2390 Don't you have a history exam to fail, kid?
1
@bestbest632 Shut up.
1
@nitespot1365 Don't try and speak for Africans or French politics
1
@nitespot1365 Being African means nothing. It means you have an incentive to lie and calls your education into question. So please leave France and Mali to people who know basic facts about France and Mali
1
@BonsuBigWhale Neocolony is a meaningless buzzword that can be applied to anyone with allies you don't like. And yes, the only reason Mali has elections is because French colonists had elections back in the day.
1
@davinabrownhappygf338 I question your education. Now bug off.
1
@comrade9374 You should change your screen name.
1
@MWENDA-vv5im that's what you suppose to be so, not what you know for a fact.
1
@patrickdayton2080 the Malians would say otherwise
1
@lilacer6841 for now
1
@patrickdayton2080 reporters asked a bunch of Malians what they thought. Some thought the French might turn on them while others said they need their help to fight Jihadis. So let there be no doubt that for the moment Mali is a French ally. Some countries are capable of maintaining allies, in case that's a foreign concept to you.
1
@aguynamedscott11 if you don't know jack about Mali why you so intent on damning every white man in the country right now?
1
@aguynamedscott11 you should talk. Now shut up and get drafted
1
@Komeshokakunanwene how'd you know? You wouldn't even know who they're at war with right now.
1
@BonsuBigWhale put that back up yer butt where you got it. Especially when colonies and allies are not mutually exclusive if you know even the most basic facts about history and English.
1
You're only talking 4,000 Frenchmen and handfuls of skilled workers from elsewhere.
1
@benghazi4216 Most of these angry comments are from people racist against white people
1
@risingphoenix02 Take that racist BS and put it up your butt where you found it
1
Because those are NATO enemies for unrelated reasons. Duh.
1
You should talk

@Moustaph7 parts of Africa did do just that during the world wars when they were one country with this or that European state. But the idea any African country could straight up invade and overcome a European state is a bit ludicrous. Just look at the disparity between Mali and France, where the former has low literacy, few vehicles, no planes but what first world allies provide, no factories but what first world investors provide, and general poverty limiting military budgets. The French, however, have enough air power in France to send them to the four winds in a matter of days.
