  5. HP Lovecraft's family was like that. They started out well but were plagued by hereditary insanity, substance abuse, and petty squabbles so that by the time Lovecraft started on his own they had less than nothing because he had to care for his mother who was in a psych ward. The house was nice when they moved in, and trash when they moved out.

  11. I read of a similar incident, but it was a doll that the person burned and mutilated. Cops couldn't do anything, but he spent a lot of time in therapy and I haven't heard of that guy reoffending.

  12. One women in Australia was jailed because she said her baby was taken by dingos and no one believed her because dingos were not seen as a threat to humans. It wasn't until a similar incident was stopped in the act that she was released. If the animal will eat meat, it will eat you if it can.
