Cheap labor is never a means to build lasting growth in business. A lasting business is where everyone gets their cut.

Important note is that a lot of GDP growth is down to population growth as more people grow up into productive citizens. It is unlikely China can continue to post positive GDP growth numbers in these conditions.

Wait a minute. Population shrinkage is measured in deaths minus births, but we saw those huge lines of people getting visas out of the country. Is Beijing simply not counting the net population outflow in their figures?

@malakatan3235 that's a preposterous connection as there are only a handful of Communist states left, several of which are suffering population decline to include China, Cuba, and Venezuela.

That implies the problem is worse than Beijing has stated, given the current incentive is for officials to report inflated population numbers.

@malakatan3235 put that back up your butt where you got it. The US, Canada, and Australia have never had a negative growth rate, but these are newly settled lands. Eastern Europe had population decline after the fall of the USSR but things are picking up now, and western Europe has a largely static population because it is a very old land.
