Russian cars are the total opposite of China's. Many Russians struggle to afford a car and the roads aren't very good so they build their cars as durable and long lasting as possible. Many Russian cars from the 50s and 60s are still on the road.

@Nameles84 shows what you know. There's more to Russian history than the Great Patriotic War as it is called there. Even during the frantic pace of WWII construction they were building vehicles meant as totally idiot proof with low maintenance and high survivability. After the war they started stealing blueprints of American and British cars, then made many adjustments by beefing up many parts and simplifying others to meet Russian consumer needs

@occamraiser that's a weirdly specific misconception. Gas and electricity are dirt cheap in Russia because they have lots of gas and coal. Most of the cost is in installing the lines. That said, in certain semi-nomadic regions gas in lacking but heating is essentially free, they gather brushwood. Horses are still in use for the same reason they're in use everywhere: They're cheaper than ATVs.

@thanakonpraepanich4284 a lot of these Chinese firms are renting western factories in Russia producing Chinese style cars. They think they can leverage to the tits and monopolize the market.
