  6. Good question. A large portion of prisoners aren't even kept in proper jails, but in hotel rooms, houses, camps, and improvised jails in office spaces. Add in lazy guards, why haven't we heard of more escapees?

Profit margins rarely exceed 10% of budget due to intense competition, but bribes can consume as much as 30% of budget, therefore you must either rip off the customer or rip off employees (the latter is not a repeatable strategy). This can get progressively worse as cheap construction can get factored into the initial budget.
