  8. Not in this case. These guys don't have have the equipment or expertise to use the blueprints they bought from ARM. They've put together phones from scrap parts just so they can say have "made in China" phones

Even if you buy blueprints for off the shelf chips, steal information how to integrate it, and scam a company into circumvent sanction, none of these Chinese companies would be able to make phones from scratch because it takes hundreds of millions worth of equipment and engineers and technicians with machine specific knowledge. These Huawei phones are literally assembled by hand from scrap parts, that's why they're terrible and expensive. @summer031977

  12. @larrywenman947  Anyone can build them, you just need a developed city packed like a can of sardines to be profitable. The only one making money right now is in Japan, and the US population is spread so thinly that planes are preferred over trains.
