  1. This isn't big corporation issue, this is an unlicensed/unskilled local pirate issue. Seriously, when a gas truck crashes in Nigeria, locals will ignore the driver and rush to steal the gasoline. Accidents are frequent.

  10.  @cellardoor7500  DUDE! They have literally ALWAYS BEEN THIS POOR. In fact, before foreign investment came in, they had near zero access to anything more complicated that a shovel. You want to know why? Because poor education and high crime rates being passed from one generation to the next.

And blissful is pretty silly given the whole country is subject to major infighting and poor sanitation. In the northwest, for instance, nomadic bandit gangs control chunks of turf. In others, militias run thing nominally allied to the government but significant infighting has been reported.
