  3. Caveat: The tonnage of China's is misleading because it is of inferior quality and must go through further processing before used in batteries. I can't be sure, but this may be why those Dollar General batteries only last a day.

  4. China's EV mandates are fake. It's just a way to funnel subsidies to cronies who build EVs, sell to affiliated entities who scrap and sell the parts back to the factory. Many just skip the middlemen and sell vehicles back and forth between affiliated entities while the vehicle rots in a field. This is also why Chinese EVs are strangely cheap as many of the fraudsters have to dump their stock and the other automakers cut prices to match, turning the whole industry into a ponzi scheme.
