  1. The thing about private tutoring in China is that primary schools have tight schedules and large class sides, meaning very little one on one teaching. Understandably most parents would pay to get that little extra one on one stuff.

  3. Sometimes, yeah. The average class size K-12 is 50-60 IIRC. Hence why so many parents will pay for a tutor.

  4.  @Ravi9A  I was referring to elementary school classrooms, and by western standards 60 is huge because there's virtually no one on one teaching being done.
