@birilol depends how you count because they scrap and rebuild the same vehicles in order to collect subsidies dozens of times.

Emission regs kill all benefit for diesel except in the very largest engines. Long story short, you must use DEF which turns diesel from the dirtiest engine to the cleanest engine, but DEF costs money.

@iu2 to be fair, US and Russian nuclear electronics are mostly the stuff that was originally installed in the Cold War. Secrecy adds massive costs and all this stuff must be proprietary so that it's unhackable bringing design costs up when only a couple hundred are needed.
