  1. Yeah, I recall one guy on WSB that was getting really angry at people's pessimism on Alibaba after Jack Ma disappeared. The reason being was he stood to lose a lot if things didn't pick back up.

  2. Tesla's Chinese branch isn't an exception. A couple years ago they faced fraudulent claims of brake failures, and yes we know they're fraudulent because the vehicle data from the one alleged incident showed the breaks working 40 times just before the crash. Nonetheless government censors allowed sensational incidents to go viral with sycophantic comments all saying they should buy Chinese cars instead. The reason? Well, Tesla had already given up its tech to the Chinese government as required, but no one in China was able to produce knockoffs due to technical limitations. In other words, China's indigenous EV industry couldn't possibly compete with Tesla's factories in China.

  4. If you know the right people you can buy the answers to the test. Also the test scores often don't matter, as if you know the right people you can buy a government job. This problem is so systemic in the army that it's like a MLM scheme where men pay off their bosses by selling more ranks. On top of that a private tutoring industry will always be big business as China's public schools are lacking in quantity and quality as gradeschool class sizes of 60 or higher is the norm. Schedules are tight, teachers are underpaid, and there's a heavy reliance on standardized tests at all levels.

  6.  @Prizax  50%???? They were only going to build one factory in China, and that factory isn't going to be expanded due to recent shenanigans.

  7.  @Prizax  that's more or less true as supply chains for complex builds can be insanely complicated. Tesla could move battery production if they wanted, but they can't move that factory in Shanghai. But that definitely isn't 50% of Tesla
