  6.  @tiararoxeanne1318  Vlad Tenev, Nikola Tesla, Thomas Edison, and Elon Musk were all immigrants. Being an immigrant doesn't make you small fry, and being in government doesn't make you dirty. Besides, there's a whole list on Wikipedia of politicians who've been charged with felonies (none of which had anything to do with stock markets). I also saw a statistic saying 1,000 cops were arrested each year (mostly substance abuse related). I don't know the stats for bureaucrats getting busted, but I saw one case where a Treasury Department clerk was arresting for leaking every classified document she could find simply because she voted for the other guy.

It stands there's not a single known instance of insider trading among politicians and the cases you're thinking of right now have been debunked. Among the felonies politicians have gone to jail for you see mostly garden variety crimes and job-specific crimes like voter fraud, bribery, contraband trafficking, and substance abuse related.
