As if renewables aren't debilitatingly expensive as is. Just use some of those modular nuclear reactors that are being tested as we speak.

@harmeharkhanna4225 there are some big skews to that because market bubble. For instance, in the US most of solar power's profitability comes from government subsidies, and even then it struggles to be as profitable as nuclear energy which is the subject of punitive regulations made for the express purpose of reducing their numbers (politicians don't know jack about science or economics). Also, tech problems about "green" energy are far more widely published than those of gas motors and nuclear, so understand that scientific progress has no regard for politics. All the above are cheaper and more effective now than ever before.

Example of how fraudulent China's green energy was. For a little while China boasted the rate their power supply was going away from natural fuel faster than anyone else. However, what they didn't mention was unlike most developed nations they were still building coal plants. The reason the switch appeared fast is because most Chinese power plants don't live long enough to get overhauled, meaning they only lasted 1/10th as long as first world counterparts. Also, they included a bunch of windmills cities put up for show and never worked to begin with. There were also skews in press releases, loudly projecting future successes while occasionally reporting failures. Like when a natural gas pipeline was built to China, regulators banned many uses of coal based on wild speculation. Of course, the pipeline wasn't ready by winter and people had to break the law to stay warm. This appears to be a repeat of that nonsense on a grand scale.

Few people with money care.

@AX_Mk2 This opinion reflects your limited knowledge of the subject, not reality.

@AX_Mk2 no, I'm just an asshole talking to someone idiotic enough to use their real name as a screen name.

Correction about EV sales; Most Chinese people simply can't afford cars and tiny subsitutes are the norm. Motorbikes, scooters, and whatever those two person utility vehicles are called are the norm and they're all cheap vehicles that generally can't go highway speed.

Those pictures of those Chinese solar panels is another case in point why their green revolution isn't as good as they say. Actual solar panel technicians say it makes no sense to install panels so close together on those locations as there's no way even half the panels will be giving peak output at any time of day.

@en0n126 that's not the point being made. I meant that they're not getting near as much power as they could

That seems to have been nothing but a press release. I haven't heard about ever since their 300 reactor goal was announced. That's what happened to their giant space mirror, and their space laser, and their cloning (several times), and many other fraudulent progress claims.

@sid35gb the only obstacle to going full nuclear are widespread delusions and myths among lay people.
