  3.  @profdc9501  dude, older chip factories just make things for non-computer items (appliances, tools, car accessories, and so forth). Only computers really need the latest chips.

  5.  @profdc9501  Chip makers cut anything the customer asks for and a lot of it is specifically for the device in question. It's like cars where a lot of interchangeability exists on common vehicles, but your mechanic might not have the needed part on hand.
